Production Control Officer

Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Production Control Officer to join our maintenance operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring all production-related activities within the engine repair shop, ensuring that maintenance work is executed efficiently, documented accurately, and delivered in full compliance with approved data, customer requirements, and FAA/EASA Part 145 standards.

This role is key to ensuring on-time project delivery, effective resource allocation, and clear communication between maintenance, engineering, quality assurance, and logistics teams.

 


 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the generation of work packages (task cards, job instructions, and maintenance task plans) as issued by Engineering.
  • Ensure that work orders (WOs) created in ERP systems are complete, accurate, and updated throughout the repair cycle.
  • Verify that all maintenance documents comply with the latest approved data and revisions (EOM, SBs, ADs).
  • Control and monitor man-hour planning versus scheduled maintenance work to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Act as the central coordination point between the engineering, production, materials, inspection, and quality departments.
  • Attend work scope meetings with Engineering, Production, and Quality to align priorities and resolve conflicts.
  • Liaise with the Materials Department to ensure the timely availability of required parts, tools, and consumables.
  • Ensure that all work packages, production reports, and completion records are properly logged and archived.
  • Maintain full traceability of all work cards, ensuring no task is closed without the required inspection or certification.
  • Track the progress of each engine/module from induction to release, ensuring all phases (inspection, repair, and assembly) follow the established workflow.
  • Monitor critical path items, including outsourced components, NDT activities, and tooling availability.
  • Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for the Manager of Engineering & Planning.
  • Ensure that all maintenance documentation is used and controlled in compliance with EASA/FAA Part 145 requirements.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and support the implementation of corrective actions related to production process control.
  • Report discrepancies, delays, or risks affecting delivery and quality to the Manager of Engineering & Planning.
  • Maintain proper shift and task handover documentation to ensure workflow continuity and minimize errors.

 


 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering or a related technical field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an engine repair or overhaul shop, working on one or more of the following engine types: CFM56-5A/5B/7B, V2500-A1/A5, and Trent 700.
  • Strong understanding of EASA/FAA Part 145 requirements.
  • Good knowledge of MRO ERP systems.
  • Solid familiarity with engine maintenance workflow, documentation, and shop coordination.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a proactive, organized approach.
  • An analytical mindset with a focus on turnaround time (TAT) control and man-hour utilization.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong documentation and record-keeping discipline.

 


 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an EASA Part-145 or GACA Part-145 certified MRO organization.
  • Strong understanding of production planning and maintenance resource management.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.).
